It's pretty rare to see these old metro trains running now that they've all been replaced by newer ones. It was a pleasure to ride this one again yesterday... i'm probably too nostalgic.
Ryan, thank you. I am taking all of these pictures with a Canon Powershot A520, except when I post scanned paper pictures, taken with a Nikon F80.
Andrea, I visited Budapest several times, and it's true that the metro trains are the same as the " old ones" over here, except that they're painted blue and make a terrible noise :)
These trains are remastered versions of the old ones. So they are actually quite new and you can meet them mostly on A and B lines. The real old ones are not used anymore.

Actually, the metro doesn't look that old to me. I wonder how the new ones look like.
It looks new and modern to me. We don't have them in our small town.
Great lines.
I like the look of those cars. I can't believe those are the old ones. They look shiney and new to me.
Hello kakna,
Nice photo as the others.
If this metro makes you nostalgic, you should come to visit Budapest.
Here the old metro is the present metro, because is the only.
Hungary is still quite far from Europe.
I love your photos! Reminiscences of my time in Prague.
Well, may I ask what camera model are you using?

i'm led to believe they used the old trains because it was the 35 years anniversary of the prague subway...
