Promenade on the riverside, reserved to pedestrians and bikes... They've done quite a nice job down there.

coffee time

These new cafe-in-malls do their best to make it comfortable... I'm not sure they manage, I don't know, somehow I'm just allergic to these places.

evening suns

Night falls pretty early now again, and around 19h45 it's alreay quite dark. Not a bad thing, it helps seing things one didn't notice before, no matter how large they can be - in my case, this new (?) hotel downtown, in a courtyard behind Tyn church.

new era at florenc

Prague has a new bus station building! It's nicely glazed, with lots of screens showing departure and arrival times, everything is also written in english, there's a helpdesk, toilets, and things you can buy to eat... a whole new world in Florenc, those who went through the former place will know what I mean.

and still going

So, today is this blog's 1st anniversary. I knew it was coming pretty soon, and when I checked just now, I was really surprised to see it's exactly today... because of all my trips out of town recently, I almost missed it. But here we are... 281th post, I missed about 80 days, which is a lot.
Anyway a year has already passed, it's July again, summer again, biking time again, and the tv tower is still here. Let's see where this year will lead us.

ps. this is the cyclepath along the river in Karlin

new beer

I had the occasion to taste a new beer, Pardal... well a beer always tastes good when drank on the grass under the sun, surrounded by friends and in front of a stage where good music is played :)

red lights place

Prague market is full of suprises. Now one of the biggest halls has just reopened as a brand new upscale asian restaurant with delicous food and -for now at least- affordable prices. It's called Sasazu

that is Karlin - 7

As I wrote before, there is a lot of new office buildings in Karlin. The one you can see here through the gate, Corso, was one of the first to rise, back in 2000.

ps. Honza is also contributing to this theme on his photoblog

that is Karlin - 5

Far from its grey and devastated image, Karlin is also the place where a lot of new office buildings are standing or being built... reflection of evening's pink skies in the latest one, Bofill's Corso 2.

that is Karlin too

Aside from the neglected romantic baroque buildings, Karlin also counts some clean renovated industrial halls, housing open-space offices efficiently

moved

The vegetables market moved places with the Prague Market area in Holesovice. It's now in a hall at the opposite where it was before, and the hall is so small that not all of the sellers fit in. So a couple of them are brave enough to stand outside in the cold... and this morning was exceptionally sunny, I can't imagine they are waiting there the other days.
